Timeframe & Compensation:
Year 1: a part-time role from February – July, 10 hours per week with a compensation of $10,000
Year 2 & 3: Effectively 80% of a full-time position (schedule below), with annual compensation of $40,000 and 2 months of paid vacation (Mid-July through August and two weeks in Dec.)
- January – July: 40 hours per week
- September-December 24 hours per week
i-tri is an empowerment program where girls train MIND-BODY and SPIRIT over the course of a 6-month intensive multi-faceted program to complete a YOUTH DISTANCE TRIATHLON.
For the 2021 Program year, i-tri will be practicing NYS social distancing guidelines. For safety precautions, traditional in-person sessions will be modified to be managed over zoom and/or with limited in person attendance.
i-tri is preparing to expand and is looking for an energetic, passionate individual who is interested in working to empower adolescent girls on the East End of Long Island. This job will involve meeting weekly with the girls in small group sessions, along with preparation, family programs and outreach. You will be working with our coaching and athletic staff to oversee and coordinate our 2 hour-after school fitness sessions and 2.5-hour Saturday coaching sessions, and you will lead our 1-hour self-esteem workshops each week.
About the role:
We are looking to hire someone who “Gets It.” Our girls are looking for a leader, a mentor and someone who really cares about them. We are looking for someone who can be all of that AND responsible for creating an atmosphere of trust, acceptance and safety for the girls and their families.
This is a minimum of a three-year commitment. In the first year, you will shadow our Program Director for 1.5 days a week including one weekday afternoon/early evening and 4 hours on Saturday from January-July, working with one group of the girls, as you learn the process and the program. In the following years, this position will become a 70% full time equivalent (see hours above full time (4 days a week and Saturday from September-July, and you will be directly responsible for preparing and leading three groups in various East End School Districts from Mastic to Montauk.
